Trick-or-Treat Safely This Halloween
As Halloween approaches, InsureBC Squamish reminds everyone to stay visible, safe, and smart on the roads. With more pedestrians and cyclists out after dark, a few simple precautions can make all the difference.
Safety Tips:
- Be bright: Add reflective tape, flashlights, or glow sticks to costumes.
- Stay alert: Cross only at corners and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
- For cyclists: Use front and rear lights, wear reflective gear, and follow all traffic rules.
- Drivers: Slow down in residential areas and stay watchful for excited trick-or-treaters.
- Fireworks: Follow local bylaws and always keep children supervised.
ICBC Coverage Reminder:
Under ICBC’s Enhanced Care model, pedestrians and cyclists injured in a crash are covered for medical, recovery, and income-replacement benefits — even if they don’t own a vehicle.
Let’s make this Halloween a night full of treats — not tricks on the road.
Be safe, be seen, and have fun from all of us at InsureBC Squamish!
